Raspberry Blush Smoothie

As spring slowly makes way for the hotter summer months there is nothing more refreshing than waking up to a nutrient-dense, berry-filled smoothie just bursting with goodness! And this gorgeous blush-coloured beauty is just that... vitamin-rich and totally delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp IsoWhey Wholefoods Organic Bio-Fermented Pea + Brown Rice Protein Powder
  • 1 banana, frozen
  • Handful of raspberries, fresh
  • 1 large dollop coconut yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup coconut water

Method

  1. Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Garnish with fresh raspberries.

CAMU-CAMU

Camu-camu, is a small bushy riverside tree which bears a red, rounded shape fruit. It is native to South America, more precisely to the Amazon rainforest. Long used by native peoples, the camu-camu berries are eaten as food. A pink juice can be extracted from these berries, due to the reddish pigment in their leathery skin.?Camu-camu berries have a very high vitamin C content, on the order of 2–2.3% of fresh weight.1 ?

Due its rich content of vitamin C, excellent immune support, and of flavonoids and anthocyanins, which are believed to have antioxidant properties, camu-camu has started to gain significant interest from the food and cosmetic industry.
Camu-camu fruits are also a source of minerals such as sodium, potassium, calcium,zinc, magnesium, manganese and copper.2
